Designed to be installed above Wireline BOP, and below Lubricators. It preventsthe loss of Wireline Tool String downhole in the event of the wire being pulled-off the Rope Socket,by retaining the dropping tools on a flapper.
Tool Traps can be opened manually or remotely by hydraulic pressure to allowTool String to be lowered through Tool Trap from above
